Biore

Biore is a Japanese skincare brand from Kao Corporation, known for pore strips and the UV Aqua Rich sunscreen range. It has an official Australian website and is sold at Priceline and Chemist Warehouse, with Japanese UV Aqua Rich versions available from specialist shops.

Biore belongs to Kao Corporation, a Tokyo company whose story, the brand says, began in 1887 when Tomiro Nagase set out to make good quality, affordable facial soap. Kao's own product history dates Biore to 1980, when Biore Facial Foam launched in Japan as a gentle, neutral cleanser to replace soap. Biore skincare reached the United States in 1997 and later Europe.

The brand says it was the first skincare brand to focus on the pore, and its pore strips are still the best known product outside Japan. In Japan, Biore is also a major sunscreen name through the UV Aqua Rich line, and Kao continues to launch new UV formulas there.

In Australia, Biore runs an official local website with a range of pore strips, charcoal cleansers and two UV Aqua Rich SPF 50 moisturisers made for the Australian market. The Japanese UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is a different product, sold here by specialist importers.
