COSRX is a South Korean skincare brand founded in 2013 and now majority owned by Amorepacific. It is sold in Australia through Myer, Chemist Warehouse, Adore Beauty and official distributor Boniik, plus specialist K-beauty shops.
The brand says COSRX was founded in 2013 after more than a decade of research and customer feedback dating back to 2002. The name, the brand says, combines "cosmetics" and "Rx" (prescription), reflecting its aim of matching simple, ingredient-led formulas to specific skin concerns.
Amorepacific bought a 38.4% stake in COSRX in 2021 and in October 2023 announced it would take its holding to about 93.2%, making COSRX a subsidiary. At that time Amorepacific said COSRX was sold in around 140 countries, with overseas sales making up more than 90% of revenue, helped by strong Amazon and TikTok visibility.
